Description

SUPERFERTIL Male Urinal

A male urinal with a container to save water and collect urine.

The SUPERFERTIL HOMME urinal is a dry urinal that collects urine directly into a container. It operates without a flush and requires no connection to a drainage system.

You can thus install a men’s urinal with a collection container in an existing restroom, alongside a standard flush toilet. Each use avoids a flush and helps reduce water consumption.

The SUPERFERTIL HOMME urinal features a vertical polypropylene receptacle. It collects urine and directs it into the container.

The receptacle swivels 360°. The urinal attaches directly to the top of a 19-liter container designed for urine collection.

A waterless urinal designed to minimize odors

SUPERFERTIL HOMME combines three features to minimize odors, from urinal use to urine storage.

  • A dry trap with elastomeric flaps
The flaps open when urine flows through and then close again. They form a barrier between the contents of the container and the urinal. This system operates without a water seal.
  • Urine acidification
Add approximately 4 g of household-grade citric acid per liter of urine at the start of filling each container. Acidification slows down the processes that promote ammonia volatilization, thereby helping to limit odors.
  • Cleaning after each use
Spray a light mist of white vinegar onto the gutter after each use. This simple step cleans the surface and helps minimize odors.

Collecting urine for resource recovery

The collection container allows urine to be captured instead of being discharged with the wastewater.

You can use the collected urine as fertilizer for your garden and vegetable patch. You can also take it to a dedicated drop-off point for agricultural use.

For garden use, it is recommended to dilute urine with ten volumes of water before watering.

SUPERFERTIL HOMME thus makes it possible to recover the nutrients present in urine and transform them into a fertilizing resource for plants.

FAQ

FAQ — SUPERFERTIL Male and SUPERFERTIL Female Urinals

What are the SUPERFERTIL HOMME and SUPERFERTIL FEMME urinals used for?

The SUPERFERTIL HOMME and SUPERFERTIL FEMME urinals allow urine to be collected directly into a container.

They make it easy to install a urinal where setting up a conventional system would be difficult, while also offering the possibility of collecting urine to utilize it as a fertilizer resource.

The collected urine can be used to fertilize a vegetable garden or deposited at a dedicated collection point for agricultural use.

The SUPERFERTIL HOMME and SUPERFERTIL FEMME urinals thus enable voluntary participation in nutrient recycling and transform urine into a local, renewable, and useful resource.

How do you use the SUPERFERTIL HOMME and SUPERFERTIL FEMME urinals at home?

The SUPERFERTIL HOMME and SUPERFERTIL FEMME urinals can be installed in restrooms alongside a flush toilet.

They thus make it possible to reduce toilet flushing and, consequently, save water on a daily basis.

Both models are equipped with an angled chute that collects urine and directs it into the container. This polypropylene chute rotates 360°, making it easy to position and allowing it to be tucked away when not in use.

The SUPERFERTIL HOMME urinal is designed for use in a standing position.

The SUPERFERTIL FEMME urinal features a movable trough that clears space for the feet, making it easier to adopt a squatting position.

How can odors be prevented with SUPERFERTIL Male and SUPERFERTIL Female urinals?

The SUPERFERTIL HOMME and SUPERFERTIL FEMME urinals combine three complementary mechanisms to minimize odors, from the moment the urinal is used through to urine storage.

1. Clean the tray after each use.

To maintain good hygiene, it is recommended to spray household vinegar on the aligner after each use. This cleans the surface and helps minimize the development of odors.

2. Acidify the collected urine.

It is recommended to acidify the urine to slow down bacterial activity and limit ammonia volatilization.

Two simple solutions can be used:

  • approximately 4 g of powdered citric acid per liter of urine;
  • or one tablespoon of household vinegar per liter of urine.

These products are readily available at hardware stores or in the cleaning aisle of supermarkets.

Acidification also helps better preserve the nitrogen contained in the urine for agricultural use.

3. Preventing odors from rising from the container

The SUPERFERTIL Male and SUPERFERTIL Female urinals are equipped with a dry trap featuring an elastomeric flap.

This flap acts as a barrier between the container and the urinal. It opens when urine passes through and then closes, preventing odors from the tank from rising into the room. Unlike a standard trap, this system does not require a water seal.

Combining these three measures—cleaning the trough with household vinegar, acidifying the urine, and using a dry trap with an elastomeric flap—effectively limits odors.

A clean, tightly sealed container rounds out these best practices.

Can the SUPERFERTIL HOMME and SUPERFERTIL FEMME urinals be installed in commercial premises and establishments open to the public?

Yes. The SUPERFERTIL Men’s and SUPERFERTIL Women’s urinals can be installed in existing restrooms in commercial premises and establishments open to the public.

They can also be installed in areas where public urination is a problem, such as parking lots, secluded corners, outdoor spaces, and so on.

They thus make it possible to transform urine—normally lost—into a resource that can be collected and put to use.
